Our Efforts

Words Meet Action

At Poké House, we're not just about crafting delicious bowls of fresh, flavorful poke; we're committed to sustainability every step of the way. Our commitment shines through in every aspect of our operation. Our wild-caught and farm-raised seafood is rated Best Choice or Good Alternative by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program or Eco-Certified by a third party. We also proudly serve our poké in 100% biodegradable bowls and utensils, ensuring that even after enjoying your meal, you're leaving behind zero lasting impact on the environment.

But it doesn't stop there. We're passionate about minimizing food waste. We have teamed up with Too Good To Go to help minimize food waste in all our locations.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our doors, as we actively contribute to ocean conservation efforts. Partnering with organizations that align with our mission like REEF.org and Ocean Rescue Alliance International, we strive to protect marine ecosystems, safeguard oceanic life, and foster a healthier planet for generations to come. When you dine with us at Poké House, you're not just enjoying a meal, you’re helping save the planet.

Our Partners

  • Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) is an international marine conservation organization that implements hands-on programs to involve local communities in conservation-focused activities. REEF was founded in 1990 and is based in Key Largo, Florida, with additional staff distributed throughout the US. Its mission is to protect biodiversity and ocean life by actively engaging and inspiring the public through citizen science, education, and partnerships with the scientific community. REEF's work focuses on four main projects: the Volunteer Fish Survey Project, the Grouper Moon Project, the Invasive Species Program, and the Ocean Explorers Education Program.

  • Through our partnership with Too Good To Go, Poke House contributes to collective efforts in reducing food waste and its impact on the environment, while offering customers the opportunity to access good food at a great value for money.

Circa 40% of all food produced is wasted every year, contributing to 10% of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions (WWF, 2021). According to Project Drawdown (2020), reducing food waste is the number one action people can take to help tackle climate change, by limiting the temperature rise to just 2˚C by 2100.

Every day, Poke House customers have the opportunity to join the Too Good To Go community and help save the planet bite by bite, one meal at a time. Simply download the Too Good To Go app, available for free on both iOS and Android stores, search for the nearest Poke House store, reserve your Surprise Bag, and arrive at the store at the set pick-up time.

Together, we can create ripples of change and contribute to a more sustainable future. We encourage each of you to join us in saving good food from going to waste!

  • The Ocean Rescue Alliance International is a marine conservation and restoration nonprofit organization that implements innovative techniques to restore marine environments. We use artificial structures to build marine habitat, conduct restoration, protect coastlines, and connect communities through art.
